Well, I'll go first.

My husband is not a violent offender but he is serving a sentence that is considered to be violent. Known as '3g' offences in TX, this means he must serve half his sentence in prison before he will be considered for parole.

Hi Doc

Often that is because of the BPP insistance of using 'nature of offence' to deny parole applications. It is something that many groups are working on to change. We have a long way to go before Hubby's first chance.
