A Servant’s Heart
The Revelation of Abstract Knowledge

by Michael Toran

ARRIVAL

It’s been a long trip. You charted your course (or your car’s navigational system did it for you). Think about the preparation that preceded your journey. Were you in control, or was someone else directing where you’d go? What mishaps did you encounter? Did you successfully weave in and out of tribulations, or did you falter along the way? When you finally arrived at your destination, was it worth the effort?

September 3, 2004 was a dark day in my life. I sat in a jail cell and determined that I would take matters into my own hands by taking my life. I knew I was a coward, but I didn’t give a damn. I could no longer bear the pain of all my failures. I was desperate to be loved, but I didn’t love myself. I was sure I had the balls to kill myself, although I was fearful that I’d spend eternity in hell; nevertheless, I saw no other way out. It was the worst day of my life – but it was also the best day of my life, because before night fell, I had a dream and a vision. On that day, I became a writer.

I began to chart a course to my desired destination. Many tried to hold me back and discourage me, but my vision was rooted deep within my heart and soul. I nurtured my vision and asked my Creator to lead me in the way I should go. I’ve made some wrong turns and I’ve had some flat tires, but God has kept me driving through all sorts of catastrophes: unpaid bills, eviction, homelessness…

I’m telling you that if you’re not on the road to your vision, your destiny, get on the road right now! Don’t give up. Continue … continue … continue, because before you know it, you’ll see a sign lit so bright it will be hard to read what it says. I’ll tell you what that sign will say. It will say

ARRIVAL!

REFLECTION

It’s when you’re ready to quit that your breakthrough is just around the corner!

Humbly and in Peace,

Mike
